LVN Nurse Supervisor

Supervision and Leadership:
- Supervises and directs nursing staff, including LVNs, LPNs, and nursing assistants.
- Assigns tasks and duties based on established protocols and policies.
- Conducts performance evaluations and provides training and development opportunities.
- Manages staff schedules and ensures adequate staffing levels.
- Provides guidance and support to nursing staff.
Patient Care:
- Ensures that patients receive quality care that promotes their highest practicable physical, mental, and psychological well-being.
- Assesses patient needs and develops or assists in developing care plans.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans.
- Provides direct patient care as needed, including administering medications and treatments.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Ensures that all applicable policies and standards are maintained.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Manages inventory of supplies and equipment.
Other Duties:
- May be required to assist with patient intake, education, and discharge planning.
- May assist with the management of the clinic or facility's back office operations.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensure:
- Valid California LVN license issued by the Board of Vocational Nurses (or equivalent LPN license in other states).
- Current CPR certification.
Experience:
- Previous experience as an LVN in a relevant setting (e.g., hospital, clinic, nursing home) is desirable.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.
- Ability to use discretion in situations dealing with confidential patient information.
- Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
