LVN Nurse Supervisor

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Supervises and directs nursing staff, including LVNs, LPNs, and nursing assistants. 
  • Assigns tasks and duties based on established protocols and policies. 
  • Conducts performance evaluations and provides training and development opportunities. 
  • Manages staff schedules and ensures adequate staffing levels. 
  • Provides guidance and support to nursing staff. 

Patient Care:

  • Ensures that patients receive quality care that promotes their highest practicable physical, mental, and psychological well-being. 
  • Assesses patient needs and develops or assists in developing care plans. 
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans. 
  • Provides direct patient care as needed, including administering medications and treatments. 
Operational Management:
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and staff. 
  • Ensures that all applicable policies and standards are maintained. 
  • Participates in quality improvement activities. 
  • Manages inventory of supplies and equipment. 

Other Duties:

  • May be required to assist with patient intake, education, and discharge planning. 
  • May assist with the management of the clinic or facility's back office operations. 
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Education and Licensure:

  • Valid California LVN license issued by the Board of Vocational Nurses (or equivalent LPN license in other states). 
  • Current CPR certification. 

Experience:

  • Previous experience as an LVN in a relevant setting (e.g., hospital, clinic, nursing home) is desirable. 
  • Supervisory experience is preferred. 

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Knowledge of nursing principles and procedures. 
  • Ability to use discretion in situations dealing with confidential patient information. 
  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
