Entertainment Talent Booker

Job Overview:

An iconic theatre in DTLA is seeking a passionate and experienced Talent Booker/Buyer to lead the public ticketed event programming. The ideal candidate has deep connections in the music and entertainment industry, a sharp ear for talent, and the business acumen to manage booking budgets and contracts. You'll play a key role in curating our event calendar and shaping the cultural identity of our venue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition: Identify, pursue, and secure artists, DJs, bands, comedians, and other performers that align with the venue’s brand and audience.
  • Negotiations: Negotiate performance fees, terms, and contracts with artists, agents, and managers.
  • Event Scheduling: Build and manage a diverse and balanced event calendar, avoiding conflicts and maximizing audience turnout.
  • Budget Management: Operate within a defined talent budget while maximizing booking impact and profitability.
  • Industry Networking: Maintain strong relationships with agents, managers, promoters, and talent to ensure a steady pipeline of top-quality bookings.
  • Logistics Coordination: Work closely with production, marketing, and operations teams to ensure all event needs are met, from artist hospitality to soundcheck scheduling.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor ticket sales, attendance trends, and audience feedback to inform future booking decisions.
  • Contract Administration: Handle all necessary paperwork including contracts, riders, and W-9s.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in talent booking, live event programming, or a similar role.
  • Established network of agents, managers, and artists across multiple genres.
  • Strong understanding of current trends in music, entertainment, and pop culture.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with ticketing platforms, budgeting software, and event management tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Passion for live events and the local music/entertainment scene.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in a music venue, festival, club, or similar setting.
  • Familiarity with artist contracts, riders, and production logistics.
  • Knowledge of local market demographics and trends.

This is a full-time position. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA and company-sponsored 401K plan.

$75,000 annually plus incentive
