We are seeking a dependable and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to help keep a residential community operating safely, efficiently, and at a high standard for residents. In this role, you will handle a variety of maintenance tasks, respond to service requests, and support the overall appearance and functionality of the property. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality work, communicates well, and works effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Perform routine repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, and general building systems
• Complete make-ready and turnover work for vacant apartments
• Inspect property grounds, common areas, and building systems to identify maintenance needs
• Assist with preventive maintenance tasks to help reduce future repairs
• Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, materials used, and follow-up needs
• Support unit inspections and ensure work is completed to property standards
• Observe and follow all safety procedures and workplace policies
• Coordinate with property management and vendors as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours maintenance coverage, if required

Qualifications

• Previous experience in apartment, residential, or general maintenance preferred
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, team members, and supervisors
• Basic understanding of safety practices and maintenance procedures
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy materials and work on feet for extended periods
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver’s license may be required

Preferred Skills

• Experience preparing apartments for move-in and move-out
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs
• Familiarity with work order systems or property management software
• Experience with seasonal maintenance tasks and property upkeep
